LETTER FROM THE OWNER TO EVERYONE
Hello Everyone!
My name is Amaechi (Simon) Akpa and I am the owner of Arizona Human Services, AzHS. I would like to share with you some information about myself and how the company began.
Simon Akpa started working in the Human Services Industry in 1990 with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Human Services Division; Community Relations Section as the Education & Outreach Coordinator, in the areas of Arizona Landlord & Tenants Rights, Immigration related employment designed to help Arizona employers and the community.
From 2006 – 2011, Mr. Akpa was a faculty member with the University of Phoenix where he taught two (2) Human Service courses, as well as Introduction to the Human Services Profession. Additionally, Mr. Akpa worked for a large group home and behavioral health company as a training coordinator/administrator. In February 2020, Mr. Akpa began working with another social and behavioral health company known as Arizona’s Children Association. He worked with this company as a Clinician/Therapist until May 2020 when the Pandemic outbreak, COVID-19 made him resign and focus on Telehealth services etc.
Mr. Akpa’s overall responsibility within each of these positions was to ensure residents, members, and students received the highest quality of care and education. This included active participation in quality improvement initiatives, review of clinical records to identify areas of weakness, member’s/client counseling, and corroboration with Administrator/CEO to institute policies and procedures for resident, member, and student member care.
His love for the field and working with this population inspired him to open his own business. In February of 2020 he opened a Telehealth company, Services for disabled persons counseling and transportation, Respite/Habilitation service company as a contractor with the State of Arizona; DES/DDD.
Personally, I have been blessed with the experiences I had and my business and I enjoy giving back to the special needs population and families that I served for more than 20 years.
Sincerely,
Simon Akpa
AzHS
Owner
WHO WE ARE: Arizona Human Services (AzHS) is a single-member LLC (SMLLC), a social service, and a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation service company that provides the owner with Respite and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation services.
AzHS hires Subcontractors, a self-employed professionals or companies hired to perform respite services and act as a driver for non-emergency medical transportation using their own vehicles, and meeting the AZDES/DDD contract requirements.
The contractor or independent contractor will work under a contract with the AzHS for AHCCCS and AZDES/DDD to complete respite services and non-emergency medical transportation.
The contract can be ongoing or have a limited duration until the specific work referenced here is completed.
The Subcontractor’s job is a specialized skill set hired for his/her expertise, which may not be a core service of the primary contractor (AzHS).
So, a subcontractor focuses on getting work from a contractor, such as Arizona Human Services. Rather than going out to find customers on their own. Subcontractors work with AzHS to handle parts of AzHS jobs.
If interested, please go to the Contact Us link on my website and send Simon a letter of interest.
Thank you.
